In one of my favorite projects of my sophomore year, I was tasked to create a minizine (mini magazine) about myself or the things I enjoyed. I decided to create my zine all around alternative and creative lifestyles.

Fortunately, I have a connection with an experienced video editor and was able to interview him for my featured article. I researched the many medicinal herbs and plants out there and took the opportunity to write an article about their benefits as well as create illustrations of each one. I then created three ads, the main one being a JWU ad following all brand guidelines very closely. The next was a 90s Photoshop ad created by pasting different picture cutouts together, and the last was an illustrated ad for Kraken Rum.

Creating this minizine taught me a great deal about page layout and the importance of grids when designing spreads. This was my first multi-page print project and it became the foundation for my InDesign capabilities.
